身為一名戰地記者，Robert Capa的生命也殞落在戰場上。
1913年，Robert Capa在奧匈帝國時期的布達佩斯的一個猶太家庭出生，原本喚作Endre Ernő Friedmann。
後來因故離開家鄉，原先的夢想是成為作家的Robert Capa在柏林找到的一份照相工作讓他從此迷上攝影。
1933年，納粹德國的排猶意識興起因而移居法國。在這個時候，他開始使用Robert Capa這個名字。
1936西班牙內戰時期，Robert Capa前往西班牙，
因緣際會之下在科爾多瓦附近拍攝到了一位共和軍士兵中彈就要倒地的一剎那而震撼全球，
但也因其照片的真實性而引發了長期爭議。
期間參與過多次戰爭，中國抗日戰爭、二次世界大戰歐洲戰場、第一次中東戰爭以及第一次印支戰爭，
在這些時候都有他所拍攝記錄下來的照片，在著名的諾曼地大登陸中也有其身影與紀錄。
1954年，Robert Capa為了採訪第一次印支戰爭，不顧親友勸阻悄悄地到了越南拍攝，
卻意外誤入地雷區，踩中地雷因而身亡。
Robert Capa一生的攝影創作題材多為戰爭，但Robert Capa卻極其厭惡戰爭。
他把相機作為接露戰爭的武器，並曾說過
「照相機本身並不能阻止戰爭，但照相機拍出的照片可以揭露戰爭，阻止戰爭的發展。」
這本攝影集蒐羅了Robert Capa在1932–1954這段期間拍攝的照片，
有些照片幾乎是模糊不清，在專業攝影的角度上實在不能算是好照片，
但這反而更凸顯了Robert Capa的照片的事件紀錄性。
作為二十世紀最著名的一位戰地攝影師，他的攝影集當然也是不可不看的，在這邊向大家推薦囉！
